Thank you for taking an interest in the Golf Queensland/Golf North Queensland Regional Junior Development Clinic set to take place this weekend 5 & 6 August 2017 at the Mackay Golf Club.

This year the coaches present will be Golf Queensland State Coach, Chris Gibson and local PGA Professional Joseph Rickman.

Please aim to arrive at 08:30 both mornings for an 09:00 start. The clinic will finish around 15:00 on both days. The clinic will include the following areas of interest:

  • Aimpoint (Putting)
  • Long and Short Game
  • Course Management
  • Strength & Conditioning (Golf specific exercises)
  • On course time 

Below is a proposed schedule for the clinic:

Day 1:
08:30 – 08:55 –  Arrival
08:55 – 09:00 – Clinic Introduction
09:00 – 10:30 – Long Game and Short Game (Groups)
10:30 – 10:45 – Morning Tea
10:45 – 12:15 – Long Game Drills and Putting Drills (Groups)
12:15 – 12:45 – Lunch
12:45 – 14:00 – Aimpoint Green Reading and Putting
14:00 – 15:00 – Long Game and Short Game (Groups)
15:00 –  Clinic Finishes

Day 2:
08:30 – 08:55 –  Arrival
08:55 – 09:00 – Day 2 Clinic brief
09:00 – 10:15 – Fitness and Chipping (Groups)
10:15 – 10:30 – Morning Tea
10:30 – 11:30 – Chipping and Fitness (Groups)
11:30 – 12:30 – Putting Drills and Long Game Drills (Groups)
12:30 – 13:00 – Lunch 
13:00 – 15:00 – On course

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Mackay Golf Club for being accommodating of these changes and you as participants for your patience while we worked on these revised dates.  

For participants who have already nominated and paid for this clinic prior to cyclone Debbie taking affect, please can you let me know if you will be attending or not? If you are unable to attend the revised dates, a full refund will be organised and returned to your parents.

This year the coaches present will be Golf Queensland State Coach, Grant Field and local PGA Professional David Lord.

Please aim to arrive at 08:30 both mornings for an 09:00 start. The clinic will finish around 15:00 on both days. The clinic will include the following areas of interest:

Golf Queensland’s Head Coach, Grant Field will be in attendance at this clinic with Strength and Conditioning Coach, Matt Winkeley from Winkfit. In addition to this year’s clinic, the coaches will be identifying participants to take part in one of two camps based in Brisbane over the September school holidays. There will be a boys and girls camp and these will take place either before the Gary Player Classic (Boys) or after the Katherine Kirk Classic (Girls).
