HOW DOES THE POINTS SYSTEM WORK??<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Golf NQ conducts a yearly Graded Points event for players participating in Club Opens throughout the year. Entry for 2018 is free to all participants and players only need complete a Club Open that is designated as a points event by Golf NQ to qualify to accumulate points.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The existing points system started in 2016 will be used. The idea is to encourage players of all grades to travel to more Open Championships resulting in greater overall attendance. The points will not only determine the trophy winners in each of the 3 grades but will be used to select players to represent North Queensland in some events run by Golf Queensland. These trophies and other prizes are a Closed event. Any player whose home club is not in the NQ region should notify the Men\u2019s Match committee at mensmatch@golfnq.org.au<\/a> of his Golflink number and any the club in North Qld of which he is a member.<\/p>\n

The following points will apply to this year\u2019s events.<\/p>\n

All points are based on GROSS scores in each Grade on the day based on Daily Handicaps (not GA handicap). \u00a0Opens where some Grades will be playing Stableford then the Stableford scores will be used.<\/p>\n

As some players can swap between Grades due to the slope rating of the course being played the points will be reported in two lists.\u00a0 One will show all the \u201cAttendance\u201d points gained by player and then \u201cPlace\u201d points gained in each grade. To determine the total for a player; add the Attendance Points to the Place Points.<\/p>\n

Grades: \u00a0A: up\u00a0to 10, B: 11-17, C: 18-36<\/p>\n

A Player will be credited with points for participating at an Open from the table below and the top 15 and Ties in each grade will receive additional points as per the second table. Note for the North Queensland Open all points are doubled.<\/p>\n

If there are, for example; 8 people tied for 10th<\/sup> place, each will receive 6 additional points for the attendance points, and 11th<\/sup>-15th<\/sup> will not be awarded.<\/p>\n
